Today’s founder interview is with one of the co-founders of a brand that we personally love very much and we love all their quirky ways of saying things, whether this is on their social media or on the products themselves. They strongly believe in sourcing superior, authentic ingredients that are good for you, good for the environment and good for the communities that produce them. This would be none other than Eat Naked. We had the opportunity to speak to Michael, one of the founders of the brand and the head of innovation, and he told us what Eat Naked is all about.
As stated on their website, “We want to make it easier for busy people to stick to healthy eating habits by providing better choices.”
Tell us more about your brand and the products that you stock/develop.
Our brand was developed to provide a “healthier for you” alternative to many of the unhealthy, processed and unnatural mass market products on our shelves. The goal is to make healthier and conscious eating the norm. We want to challenge the way people think about and consume food. We believe that food should be simple. The goodness and taste is in the raw ingredients. The brand is friendly, approachable and easy going, so consumers are not intimidated by the idea of changing their eating habits and lifestyle to being healthier.
How did you come up with the idea of Eat Naked?
The idea was developed through years of experience in the health products and consumer goods market, and through the massive growth in demand of consumers wanting healthier alternatives in their diet.
How long have you been in business and what are your brand values?
We’ve been in business for 4 years now, we started back in 2015. Our brand values include integrity, goodness, graft, innovation and bee positive.
What advice can you give someone looking to start their own brand or product range?
Take each day as it comes, the ups and the downs. Keep adjusting your short, medium and long term goals. Don’t be scared to fail and don’t take anything for granted.
What do you think companies and brands need to do to improve the community that they are situated in?
Brands and companies definitely need to instill a sense of hope, pride and aspiration in their local communities.
What is the bigger picture of Eat Naked? Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
I see us continuing to be innovators in this sector of health foods, and hopefully have a product in everyone’s kitchen at some level.
Do you have any plans to expand into other product ranges?
Yes definitely, we continue to develop and launch new products all the time.
